Dear Fellow Alabamian,

I believe that if we don’t stop corruption we can’t solve any of our other problems. 

I was taught that you don’t lie, you don’t cheat, you don’t steal, and you don’t tolerate those who do.  It’s time we brought this simple code to Alabama government and business.  

You make me Attorney General and I’ll do my best to protect Alabama and all the good that's in it.

The lessons I bring to this came from my Grandfather, who gave simple advice.  He said two things.  First, when you have a tough decision to make, go back to your fundamental values and you will probably do the right thing.  He also said that if you’re in a fight, sometimes it helps to pick up a big stick.

The tough decision we have to make is what kind of Alabama we want to be. We can keep living in this beautiful place and ignore its problems, or we can fight for something better.   

I see an Alabama with honest government, safe streets and a chance for everybody to get ahead.  I see an Alabama where my children and your children live and thrive and have their own families.  Here in Alabama.

The law is a powerful tool, the big stick of a civilized world.  It can protect people and bring justice.  And there is no place that stick can be used more effectively than the Attorney General’s office.
